Data per hour is derived from the bitrate: GB/hour ≈ Mbps × 0.45. Actual usage varies with the channel's own broadcast quality — many Somali channels broadcast in SD or HD at source, so real-world usage is often lower than the Full HD row.
How to read your result
If your plan is faster than the recommendation, speed is not your bottleneck. Buffering on a fast line usually comes from weak Wi-Fi (move the box closer to the router or use Ethernet), an overloaded device, or peak-hour congestion — our buffering guide walks through the fixes in order.
If your plan is slower, drop one quality level before upgrading your internet: the difference between 1080p and 720p on a normal living-room TV is small, and it halves both the speed requirement and the data used.
On mobile data or a capped plan, use the monthly figure to pick your cap. A family watching 4 hours of HD per evening uses roughly 280 GB per month on one screen — a 500 GB cap is comfortable, an unlimited plan is carefree.

Three real-world scenarios
