Black screen but sound (or no picture)

A black screen — often with sound still playing — is usually a video decoder mismatch. Switching the player's decoder or trying an external player fixes most cases.
Likely causes
- Hardware decoder can't handle the stream
- Wrong player engine selected
- App or device needs a restart
- HDMI/display issue on the TV
How to fix it, step by step
- In the app settings, switch the decoder between hardware and software
- Try an external player (VLC / MX Player)
- Restart the app and the device
- Test another channel — if all are black, check the HDMI input and TV
